GOTHAM Season 5 Trailer Gives Us The Joker, Harley Quinn and BANE

gotham.jpg

We are two weeks away from the final season of Gotham on FOX and before then FOX has dropped a full length that is packed beginning to end with classic villains from Bane, to Jeremiah’s probably-soon-to-be Joker, the badguys have taken over the city, and are clearly energizing this last season of the series.

Check out the full four-minute trailer

Shane West’s Bane makes his debut in the trailer, shown first as an ex-military operative named Eduardo Dorrance, who has been brought to Gotham City to help Jim Gordon save what’s left of it. At one point he tells Jim, “Shock and awe is my default.” Of course, that translates directly to his new Bane persona, which we see in action at the end of the trailer. A complete re-visioning of the origin of super villain

We also get to see Ace Chemicals, the famous plant where the Joker was created in the comics. Gotham is giving Jeremiah Valeska his own version of that story, as he and Bruce Wayne fight on the crosswalk above the glowing green chemicals.

And finally, it looks as though we get a glimpse of Gotham‘s Harley Quinn, played by Francesca Root-Dodson. She appeared as Ecco, the close friend and right-hand-woman to Jeremiah last season, but she’s gone through quite the transformation. As you can see in the trailer, she is riding around on roller skates, carrying a bat over her shoulder, wearing white makeup, and calling people “Puddin’.” Yeah, that’s most definitely Harley Quinn.

Gotham‘s fifth and final season premieres on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 8 pm ET on FOX.

First Look At Shane West As Bane In “Gotham”

A couple of weeks ago it was announced at New York Comic Con that during the final season of GOTHAM on Fox, we will be getting the mercenary Bane, played by Shane West. Now we have our first look at one of the Dark Knight’s greatest foes.

Check out the picture below.

The vest and mask both seem to be plays off of the ones in which Tom Hardy wore in The Dark Knight Rises when he portrayed the super villain. It seems that the vest may be the delivery system for the super steroid, venom (not to be confused with the other comic book character Hardy portrays).

It was also revealed at the panel during comic con that we would see Bane break a back as many know from the comic book. However it won’t be Batman’s back that’s broken it will that of Bruce Wayne’s guardian and butler, Alfred.

What are your thoughts on the look of Bane?

The Dark Knight Will Arrive in Final Season of ‘Gotham’

seriesDetail

Warner Bros came through with some exhilerating news at New York Comic Con. It was news that the fifth and final season of Fox’s Gotham will be bringing in another main villain of the caped crusader and even one point breaker of the bats back “Bane”. We will also get the official arrival of Gothams protector himself, Batman.

Along with the Dark Knight beginning his crusade to save Gotham, many of his foes will be ready to take down the bat in season 5 including the return of Zsasz, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, Hugo Strange — and Penguin will have a dog! We are also receiving new villains this season including Magpie and the aforementioned Bane played by Shane West. That was a blockbuster announcement

There has been plenty of speculation that West was playing Bane, a role that Tom Hardy portrayed in  The Dark Knight Rises. The news was confirmed today. Along with the confirmation word came out that we are getting a twist on Bane’s origin which will be interesting to see.  It was also revealed that Bane will break Alfred’s back this season,  a big plot point from the comics. However kind of wish thst was not revealed and it was kept a surprise.

No official premier date for the final season was announced as of yet.

“The New Mutants” Will Be A FULL-ON Horror Movie

X-Men-The-New-Mutants

This is according to Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton who plays Cannonball.

Now when The New Mutants was first announced it was somewhat implied that it would take on the horror elements this making it a horror film and even take on the rated R rating. But that was dispelled and then it was said it would take on the rated PG-13 rating. Next came both the push backs and reshoots has delayed the film to February of 2019. However, Heaton gives somewhat of a confirmation that we are a full-fledged horror movie.
“It’s basically about these mutants in a facility for damaged mutants. It’s a story about these characters coming to grips with who they are and it’s a horror X-Men movie, which we haven’t seen before. I feel like, for an X-Men movie, yeah, I think they’re going full-fledged horror. Without saying too much — I really don’t want to give away too much what it’s about, it’s very under wraps — but it is, in terms of anything we’ve seen in the X-Men world, it definitely is a horror film. It’s scarier than anything we’ve seen in that genre.”
This is definitely good news for fans who were looking forward to being scared in theaters. But also we can’t fully be sure this film may actually hit theaters. With the impending finalization of the Fox/Disney deal, this movie may go straight to the Disney streaming site or even straight to DVD/Blu-Ray or digital download.

But let not dwell too much on that. Heaton gives us some insight as to what we can expect from his character Cannonball: “Sam comes from Kentucky, and he’s kind of a working-class boy, and he has the ability to project himself through the sky like a cannonball.”

Ok then. We’re potentially going to see abilities as well on display as we should. Are you still excited for The New Mutants? Give us your thoughts.

FX’s Legion Drops Bryan Singer As Executive Producer

As of this posting earlier it was learned that Bryan Singer will be removed as Executive Producer of the newly renewed Fox show “The Gifted”, it is now being reported that he will now be removed from FX’s Legion as well.

The news comes before work starts on season two but the twist here is that Singer is the one who asked to be removed. “Bryan asked to take his name off the show, so we have done that,” Legion creator/executive producer Noah Hawley said after a TCA panel for the series earlier today. It is said that Singer himself reached out to FX once a new wave of sexual misconduct and assault claims began to surface and he did not want to be a distraction to the production and success of the shows.

“Very early on in the conception of the show, I met him a couple of times,” Hawley explains. “He was interested in directing the pilot, but once I stepped in to direct, I haven’t spoken to him since that moment. Really, he was a name on the screen.”  This may finally be the end of having Singer attached to the X-men franchise with these announcements and now Simon Kinsberg taking the reigns of X-men films.

We Are Getting A Look At Solomon Grundy from Gotham

Grundyjlu

Two shows have teased us the arrival of the monster (CW’s Arrow season 2 & Fox’s Gotham) and now one has officially delivered.

Gotham has given the fans what we had been hoping to see since the end of Season 3 when Butch Gilzean was shot by Barbara Keen and we found out that his real name was in fact Cyrus Gold. We all wondered were the writers and producers of Gotham going to pull the trigger on bringing in the iconic character and on it’s most recent episode we found out they did.

Season 4 episode 5 begins, with hospital guards transporting a motionless Butch, who was still in a coma, “up state.” According to them, the hospital needed to make room for patients and this was why they were removing Butch from the premises. However, it soon became apparent that “up state” meant a nearby swamp, and they heinously disposed of Butch in the soiled water.

Later, we returned to the swamp and, as we expected, Butch emerged from swamp alive. Well, sort of: He was more alive than he was when he went into the swamp, let’s put it that way. His skin was discolored, his hair was white and he looked creepier then ever. After hearing the Solomon Grundy nursery rhyme playing on a radio, a confused Butch adopted Grundy as his name and headed back to the city.

Grundy is a known adversary of the Dark Knight and with Bruce beginning to now settle into his vigilante ways, who knows if we’ll see the two cross paths in a pre-cursor to the bigger fights once he’s older.

It’s shaping up to be a very SUPER-POWERED next couple of years in both tv and film.

Fox has given the Greenlight to its newest tv mutant series “The Gifted”

Via Variety

“The Gifted” is an action-adventure series, hailing from Marvel Television, writer Matt Nix and director Bryan Singer.

The series focuses on a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Stephen Moyer plays Reed Strucker; Amy Acker plays his wife, Caitlin Strucker; Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White play their children, Lauren Strucker and Andy Strucker; Sean Teale plays Eclipse a.k.a. Marcos Diaz; Jamie Chung plays Blink a.k.a. Clarice Fong; Emma Dumont plays Polaris a.k.a. Lorna Dane; Blair Redford plays Thunderbird a.k.a. John Proudstar; and Coby Bell as Jace Turner.

Nix wrote the pilot and will serve as executive producer with Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory and Singer, who is known for directing many of the “X-Men” films, in addition to “Superman Returns.” Nix, who created “Burn Notice,” recently worked with Fox as co-creator of “A.P.B.,” which insiders say will not return for a second season. 20th Century Fox Television is producing, along with Marvel Television.

One of the hottest pilots of the broadcast development season, “Gifted” has been seen as a shoo-in for a series order. The long-gestating project was first put into development off-cycle in July 2016 with a hefty put pilot commitment, as Variety first reported. The pilot was officially ordered this January when Singer boarded the project as director.

Blair Redford will be Thunderbird in new X-Men series

We are starting to get more and more information about this previously untitled X-men pilot  which we now know is going to be called Gifted …. yup GIFTED.  The name was revealed by showrunner/producer Lauren Shuler Donner that Matt Nix will executive produce and be directed by Bryan Singer. It has also made another official casting announcement and that it will mean a classic X-men character coming to tv.

Last month, it was announced that Blair Redford, best known for Switched At Birth, was cast as  “Sam, the strong-headed Native American leader of the underground network.”  However, it appears that was just a bit of misdirection as a social media post from Gifted co-star Natalie Alyn Lind shows that Blair is playing Thunderbird, better known as John Proudstar.

Now lets let it be known that there have been two other X-Men characters to use the code name, including John’s brother, James Proudstar – who also went by Warpath for a time. The other user of the code name is Neal Shaara, an Indian with pyrokinetic abilities so it’s highly unlikely this is the version of Thunderbird that Redford is playing.

So now with this reveal, Thunderbird  will joins Polaris, Blink, and Sentinels as classic X-Men elements and characters that will appear on the show.

First Look at the Mad Hatter from “Gotham”

Gotham, ep303
Gotham, ep303, “Look Into My Eyes”

Fox’s “Gotham” is rolling out more villains for the pre-Batman era based show.

Benedict Samuel (The Walking Dead, Asthma, Underground) had been cast as Jervis Tech, and now thanks to EW we have our first look at him in the role.

This take on The Hatter is described as “a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness. He arrives in Gotham with an unwavering desire to find his sister, Alice, a young woman who went missing in the city years ago. It is anyone’s guess just how far down the rabbit hole he’s willing to go in order to find her.”

Samuel will recur, and is set to make his debut in episode 3. Gotham returns Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
