Looks Like The DOCTOR DOOM Movie Will Not Happen

doctor-doom.jpg

LEGION on FX ended last night and while many were upset to see the brilliant show by Noah Hawley go away there was still a bit of hope he would stay around the marvel world with his DOCTOR DOOM movie script. The film which was said to be a unique take on the origin story of the super villain and not have any involvement of the Fantastic Four had many excited to see what Hawley would bring.

Unfortunately it seems that the excited which has been built up now must be cast to the side as Hawley in a recent interview revealed that the movie is “done” and that he has no idea whether Marvel Studios is interested in moving forward with his take on the ruler of Latveria.

“I mean, where it stands is now that the movie is done and Legion is done and I’ve taken a little time off because someone told me there was this word “vacation,” which means you don’t work, which sounded really interesting to me. But you know, I need to circle back to them and announce that I would love to make it and figure out if that’s something that is possible. Whether or not they already have a plan in place for what to do with those characters or whether they’re open to my kind of vision for what to do with those characters. But it’s sort of on me right now to go push them, which I will do as soon as I come up for air.”

Well that is a sad thing to here because we can be pretty much certain that Marvel studios big boss, Kevin Feige has no plans for a Victor Von Doom solo movie heading into phase 5 of the MCU and with the Fantastic Four set to make their arrival soon its a sure bet a solo movie based around their nemesis would be a focus. Not to mention Doom may not be big enough of a threat to carry over on a major level the way in which we saw Thanos.

Of course, this doesn’t completely remove a chance that Hawley ends up doing something in the MCU, but just like that MULTIPLE MAN movie and the mysterious Kitty Pryde project, it seems Doctor Doom solo outing will not happen.

FANTASTIC FOUR May Arrive In The MCU Sooner Than We Expected

standard_incredible

It seems as if Marvel’s first family will be making their arrival into the MCU sooner than thought by many.  Rumor is circulating that the Fantastic Four will make their MCU feature film arrival in 2022.

That’s only three years away which means this has had the wheels in motion for some time leading up to the closing on the Disney acquisition of Fox. The rumor comes courtesy of the GWW, which states that Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are planning to put the first family back on the big screen in 2022. Which would be the latest shot at after two movies from Tim Story, and the lets just say OTHER version directed by Josh Trank.

The report from the GWW mentions that Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed is pitching his own concept for the characters, which we’ve known for a while now because Reed has never been shy about his love for the characters. The biggest part in the story is the timeline which comes as the shock.

In case you were curious as to how Reed would introduce the heroes, Reed spoke at a COLLIDER Q&A of Ant-Man and the Wasp and broke down his idea for the group,

“I developed it for about a year and we went through some different permutations and some different writers, but yes, one of the big ideas was a set-in-the-’60s thing that at the time was structurally gonna be basically like [The Beatles’ 1964 comedy-musical] A Hard Day’s Night, where we were not going to even deal with the origin story,” Reed said.

“It was just going to be like you’re in Downtown Manhattan and they’re there. It was a pretty exciting idea. At the time — again this was 2002 or ’03 — early on, way pre-MCU, I felt like Fox was not gonna make it.”

Hopefully we will get some sort of confirmation on this at this year’s San Diego Comic Con from Marvel.

Stan Lee Passes Away at 95

IMG_20181112_104858

The man responsible for many of our childhood fantasies and wanting to be heroes has passed away.

Stan Lee the man responsible for bringing us The X-Men, Black Panther, Spider-Man ,the Fantastic Four and man more has passed away at the age of 95 at Cedars-sinai hospital in Los Angeles on Monday.

Lee had battled several illnesses over the last year or so including pneumonia and vision issues.

Stan is credited along with his former creative partner Jack Kirby with helping to give birth to the modern comic book scene.

Lee scripted, art-directed and edited most of Marvel’s series throughout the 1960s, and often featured topical storylines that addressed current issues such as elections, and the Vietnam War.

He stopped writing comics in 1972 to assume the role of publisher releasing his final issues of The Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four.

Having created nearly all of Marvel’s most famous superheroes, Stan has long been included in the movie adaptations of his comics, and has been given bit parts in both Fox’s films and those of the Disney Marvel Cinematic Universe. ALL of the roles were memorable whether they are a speaking role or picture reference.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe whashich was birthed from nany of Lee’s creations have been a blockbuster triumph since Iron Man in 2008, and has seen a plethora of A-list stars bring Marvel’s heroes to life including Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chadwick Boseman, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans.

Fox Is Working On A ‘Silver Surfer’ Spinoff Film And Putting A Rush On It

silversurfer.jpg

Since the announcement of the potential  20th Century Fox-Disney merger, many people have been waiting with bated breath to see many popular Marvel characters such as the X-men and the Fantastic Four join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even with deal in the works Fox is still kicking out projects for the properties it owns. Deadpool 2 arrives in March, X-Men:Dark Phoenix in December and The New Mutants which has been pushed back to next year.  But that does not mean that Fox is slowing down by any means in trying to push out more films before the acquisition is complete.

According to   The Hollywood Reporter solo movies for both Doctor Doom and the Silver Surfer are in the works, with the Silver Surfer being written by Brian K. Vaughn of Saga and Runaways fame Here is the thing, the studio is in a rush to get these out and is reportedly moving at “100 miles per hour” to get complete.

“It does not affect this project in any way, shape or form is what I was told,” Brian Michael Bendis tells the trade after signing up to work on a Kitty Pryde movie with Deadpool director Tim Miller. “At least at the moment, it’s certainly decisions over my pay-grade if it ends up doing so.”
It’s “business as usual” at Fox according to one  insider, “We actually have way more in development and production in Marvel IP than at any point in the history of the studio. There’s been zero slowdown on that front given Disney.”
It is going to be extremely interesting to see what if any of these properties see the light of day with Fox and what may or may not hit the big screen by 2019.

Fox is for some reason developing a Doctor Doom movie

WHY???? Just WHY is this even going to happen. Well you know what let me go back and try to be as objective as possible. At a Producer’s panel for The FX show Legion at Comic-con in San Diego, its showrunner Noah Hawley just officially announced that he is developing a Doctor Doom movie for 20th Century Fox.

Hawley said during the panel, “I’m developing a film for Fox and I’ll just say two words, Doctor, Doom.”

This has caught many Marvel fans COMPLETELY OFF GUARD. Doctor Doom being one of Marvel’s most iconic villains has not been done justice in theaters. He has been featured in all three  of 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four films the 2005, 2007 (Rise of the Silver Surfer) and the 2015 reboot,  but he has not possessed both the true genius and menace that fans have come to know.

We want to know what do you all the readers think of this? Is it a good idea to do a Doctor Doom solo film or should he be included in the next reboot that is being talked about for the Fantastic Four.

RUMOR HAS IT We May Be Getting ANOTHER Fantastic Four Movie From FOX

FFmovie.jpg

Yes not only did you read the headline of this story correctly, but also that is a photo to remind you of that GOD AWFUL remake from back in 2015. Oh but guess what? That’s not the end oh not by a long shot.

The new wrinkle according to BC is that Fox is now looking at making a Fantastic Four kid-friendly movie  that’s similar in concept to The Incredibles.  They specifically add that their sources tell them that the new story will be told through the eyes of the children of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman – Franklin and Valeria Richards.

If Smith’s name sounds familiar, it’s because he did a bit of work on the script for the 2015 reboot but his contributions ultimately went uncredited as Trank elected to write his own screenplay.  While the 2015 film starring Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara didn’t work out the way anyone planned over at Fox, it seems the studio liked Smith enough that he’s receiving another shot at finding the right formula for the superhero family that was once the cornerstone of Marvel Comics.

THIS JUST HAS TO BE STOPPED LIKE SERIOUSLY! ! ! How many times can they get Dr. Doom wrong??
